Reaxys development history

Reaxys was developed in a collaborative process with the Reaxys development partners and Advisory Board, which both cover the corporate and academic sectors. The development partners have been using Reaxys for several months now, giving valuable suggestions via the development partner forum, by email, phone or in face-to-face meetings with the development team. These ideas are then fed back into Reaxys' development. As well as the development partners, Reaxys was released as an evaluation product in October to a selected number of existing CrossFire customers and their feedback is also being fed back into development. Development partner Jan Haller of Novasep has this to say about Reaxys:

"I have been testing Reaxys from first version which was released to a small group of volunteers. It's interesting to read the opinions of others in the Reaxys discussion forum and I have learned that my needs for chemical process development are specific for certain topics. By presenting them to the developers, this is one of the rare chances to participate in the design phase of a database retrieval system. Some of my suggestions have already been implemented in the latest version of Reaxys and that tells me that this way of 'co-development' is beneficial for both sides. Reaxys is easy to use but still needs some improvement with regard to access speed, however I believe that after a while Reaxys should become an application that makes finding answers as simple as Google in the internet, but is far more reliable with respect to suitability of the results."

Tommi Meulemans of Mercachem also shared his reaction on Reaxys:

"Even though I was somewhat sceptical at first (as a fan of Crossfire), the development of Reaxys has made me an enthusiastic user. New features such as the commercial availability link and the synthesis planner are very powerful. It has been a great pleasure to see that the development has really been a combined effort of the Reaxys team and its test users, proven by the extensive e-mail traffic going back and forth. There are still some features missing, but I'm convinced that Reaxys will grow to be even more powerful than CrossFire already was."
